As an annual forum for Orthodox care providers, we welcome 20-minute papers, case studies, and presentations on topics related to the clinical or pastoral care of the aging. The conference offers a unique opportunity for Orthodox clergy, mental health, and medical professionals to come together to discuss how the Orthodox healing traditions interface with contemporary theories and practices of care.
Submittals on any topics related to the broader mission of OCAMPR are welcome. Special attention will be placed on submittals related to pastoral care of the aging, including, but not limited to the aging person, the family of the aging, death, dying, grief, bereavement, remembrance of death, culture and faith around aging and death, and ethical issues around end of life issues. All presentations will be made available online and considered for publication in the conference proceedings.
Please submit a 200 word abstract of your paper, and a brief list of the credentials of the presenter, to Dr. Mike Christakis with subject line “2013 Paper Proposal” by September 15, 2013 to be included for the conference program.
